March 2010

Spring is here!  TMF is officially open for the 2010 riding season, and it's begun with a bang!  We are getting more and more riding students daily, and slots are filling up quickly.  If you or someone you know is interested in learning to ride, we accept students from the age of 4 and up.

Also, KC and Matt recently met a lovely ex-racehorse by the name of Pleasant Signal.  As of now, it looks like he will have a new home at TMF.  Check back soon to find out more about him and of course, to see photos!

KC is also accepting clients to find horses for, and is happy to travel to other barns to school green horses and train.  Please get in touch if you want KC to evaluate and possibly do some training work with your youngster or difficult horse.

February 2010

With the bulk of winter behind us (though you wouldn't know it - more snow expected tomorrow!), everyone at Thunder Moon is excited to welcome Spring!

KC and Matt have been lucky enough to attend some wonderful local events where they can get the word out about Thunder Moon.  With several big events coming up this year, now is the time to relax and enjoy the farm and grounds.  Come join us!

December 2009

KC and Matt are moved in, and so are Midnight and Topaz!  The day the horses moved in, we got a big snowstorm - and as you can see in the Gallery Section, the horses had a ball in the fresh snow!  It will certainly be a White Christmas here at Thunder Moon.

Meanwhile, the new 4 stall barn is here and we're finding that despite the super cold temperatures and sometimes howling winds, the barn is very warm and cozy for the horses at night.  Their water buckets haven't even frozen, what a lovely surprise!  The horses will be enjoying a delicious Candy Cane Bran Mash for Christmas, along with lots of carrots and apples - they deserve gifts too!

 November 2009

KC and Matt are due to move themselves (and their horses!) to Thunder Moon this month.  They will also be adding a new, 4 stall barn to accommodate more horses, and beginning to plan for Spring improvements!  Some of these details include:

  • Adding show jumps to the lower field

  • Starting to plan and build some Elementary/ Novice/ Training level Cross County jumps for schooling

  • Marking off a small size Dressage Arena within the existing riding ring
